RITs and New Professionals
NAPEG Registration Process for Applicants
Registrants-in-Training (RITs) are engineers or geoscientists who have recently graduated and are working toward gaining the required experience. NAPEG works with APEGA to process applications for Professional Engineers, Geoscientists, and Registrants-in-Training (RIT) applicants in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. While APEGA handles the evaluation and application process, NAPEG manages the registration of successful applicants for the North.
How It Works:
Step 1: Submit Initial Application to NAPEG: Complete the Application for Registration with NAPEG and submit required documents (e.g., resumé, government-issued ID, application fee). This is the first step in the process to verify your intent to apply for registration in the North.
Step 2: Receive Verification Code from NAPEG: After reviewing your initial submission, NAPEG will provide you with a Verification Code to complete your application through APEGA’s online system.
Step 3: Complete Your Application on APEGA's Website: Use the Verification Code to finalize your application on APEGA’s platform, where they will evaluate your qualifications and experience.
Note: RITs are required to complete the NPPE (National Professional Practice Examination) as part of their journey to becoming fully licensed (see more information below).
For full details about the application requirements and process, please visit APEGA’s official application page.
