This opportunity requires someone either based in Yellowknife or willing to relocate to the area. This role offers the right individual the opportunity not only to lead projects but further develop business opportunities to service the Northwest Territories.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients in the early conceptual stages of project initiation to ensure a strategic approach to project planning, setup and delivery
  • Be a trusted advisor to the client, applying your understanding of design, construction and operation of horizontal infrastructure
  • Your clients will be impressed with your ability to represent their best interests regarding contractual and technical issues
  • Your project teams will rely on your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • A strong ability to lead the control of project related documents and deliver all work in accordance with company standards and procedures

Qualifications

  • A university degree in a relevant engineering, architecture, project management or construction management discipline
  • A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in project coordination and management, representing owners to multiple stakeholders in the delivery of municipal or institutional projects
  • Strong knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as relevant codes, contract law and legislation
  • Experience leading or considerably contributing to the preparation of RFP/Q’s, tenders and tender awards
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, RA or other similar professional designation is considered a strong asset
  • Leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project and technical issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
