Senior Mill Engineer
(McClean Lake)
Reporting to the Asset Reliability Engineering Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities include:

Provide engineering expertise, oversight and leadership to ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, standards and good practices

Collaborate with tradespeople and operators to help drive and implement standards and improvements to the milling process and infrastructure

Identify mechanical requirements and preparation of detailed mechanical designs for a wide variety of projects, repairs and upgrades

Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers

Recommend and implement department engineering processes and procedures

Conduct formal risk assessment of new designs and existing circuits

Work with other disciplines, subject matter experts and operational personnel to solve process problems and ensure quality objectives, schedules and budgets are maintained
- Participate in the development of feasibility studies, value engineering and cost estimates to support continual improvement
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
-
Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a recognized university

Must be registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan (APEGS)

15+years of related experience with pumps, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure vessels, ventilation and HVAC
-
Preference given to those with ‘hands on’ experience working at an industrial facility

Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications is considered an asset

Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
-
Effective analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with peers, coworkers, contractors and consultants

Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation and SAP considered an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-
McClean Lake mine site
-
14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-
Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Tuesday
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Camsell Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.
As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks.
