Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre – Yellowknife, NT

NWTAA is pleased to welcome the National Research Council (NRC) to Yellowknife for an overview of changes to the 2015 National Building Code, adopted in November 2016 by the Government of the Northwest Territories.

Four presenters from NRC will present on various parts of the NBC, including parts 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9, as well as the National Fire Code, National Plumbing Code, and National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB).  Topics include Hazardous Materials and Activities, Energy, Accessibility, Stairs, Fire Alarms and Security, Seismic Design, Structural Design, Exterior Insulation and Finishing System (EIFS), Apparent Sound Transmission Class (ASTC), Roofing, Windows and Curtain Walls, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Plumbing, Envelope & Structure, Fire Protection, and Mid-rise Wood.

While the various sessions will not be overly technical, all registrants will have an opportunity for questions with the presenters and other NRC experts, and a detailed "2015 Changes" handbook will be provided to all registrants.

This full-day event will be held on May 31, 2017, at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre in Yellowknife.  Registration details will be available shortly.
